The hurricane had landed in Westmoreland! New Hope, so says the Jamaican Observer.
The news has not said much about Negril in particular.
No direct communication with Mark for a while - praying all is well overnight.

Looks like internet is off.
The eye of the hurricane has moved off land, off the north coast, and the storm itself is still over the west; the news says it's worse in the west for communications.

Mark has battened down the building and construction sites at the farm, harvested all the fruit that he could, reinforced all of the zinc sheet roofs, secured his building materials, disconnected all power, and prepared the farm as best as he could.
He is sheltering with others at a friend's concrete and steel building, in the area. Together they have food supplies, solar, water, and a generator.
Landfall on Jamaica, further in the centre of the island, happened around 1pm EDT.
Internet was still on at this time.
